That's all clear, thank you Arctic, I will leave it up to Wayne which options he decides to go with.
I have found that >acolytes< seem to enjoy pulling scrappers apart, gives them a taste of what they are up against when they have to be careful. I just point out how to do it and leave them to get their hands dirty, knuckles skinned etc First thing, as always, service and maintenance history records (if available) If not available then a polite call to the previous registered keeper can help.

Probably it is you, not pressing the button at exactly the right time - it is very tricky / fiddly and needs some practice. Just keep trying..
