Removal of windscreen from one ZT and installing in another ZTb
Good evening: I have a 2005 diesel ZT that has a cracked window. However I also have a complete 2004 ZT taken off the road due to slave cylinder problems at 266000 miles.
How easy / difficult is it for a professional window replacement company to do the job? It has no cracks and obviously will fit. If it cannot be done who is the best of the national chains to replace with new or anyone say as far as Manchester or Birmingham centred on Stoke. Thanks in advance Steve |

I've had quite a few screens out now, not too difficult a job.
You might want a plan b just in case they get it half cut out then break it! That is if you can find someone to do it...

I have been quoted similar to marinabrian for removal and also had a company not want to take the job on.
I recently removed a rear screen no problem. I used this kit for getting the screen out https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PRO-CUT-0...72.m2749.l2649 bare in mind there is a good chance you may break some of the clips holding the chrome trim in place that surrounds the screen. macafee2 |

Last month I had a brand new screen fitted at a very reasonable cost I thought of £140, fitted by an independent firm in the West Country, and on my driveway. Am told Autoglass would have been much dearer.

When i was doing the heated windscreens I had my windscreen fitter install about 8 in total. Out of that i think 3 were already cracked, but out of the rest he only managed to remove 2 without them cracking. It can be done but is risky.
He used a metal cable on a winding tool to break through the windscreen seal to remove them. |

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I will have to buy a replacement - any suggestions of a decent provider / fitting outfit within say 50 miles radius of Stoke?
