A little vibration with the Poweflex is to be expected - it seems pot luck at to whether you have it or not.
Condition of the other mounts will dictate the vibration you get from fitting the Powerflex - is one car a lot older or higher mileage than the other?

Also, as a side note I have the proper MG lower arm bushes back in stock if you need a set - can't remember if it was you or another member that asked about them recently, but I was out of stock. Front Lower Arm Bushes - 75/ZT

Thank you Andrew.
One of the quick updates is that even after the very first red power flex failed back in late 2012 /2013 and was replaced with the yellow mount for the diesel.

Power flex have recently still changed no quibble a red mount that was still doing the rounds for the yellow one, so if any members have the old red one that as failed contact power flex for a replacement diesel yellow mount.

1

Fitted to Rob ( trebor ) car now
2

original mounts can still be acquired from the link below, these will have the letter T stamped on them, and are the genuine Rover mounts.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1716671654...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Hopefully over the next few days and weeks we can get some more feed back from mounts which were fitted before this thread was closed.
Cheers Arctic.

Yes still got it ... just on 147, 000 now and still going strong with the Yellow Powerflex bush.

So getting on for 25k miles on the PF bush.

Think the other mounts may need doing soon as floor tickles your feet when running cold . ;-)

I fitted the Mondeo mount around 5 years ago - so long since I have forgotten what needed to be done, to fit it. It was already documented what needed to be done, but I added some of my comments to the thread, based on my experience.

Here is the original long thread - https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...ad.php?t=75766
The modification to which, involved reducing the width of the small end bush. It is a much more robust design than that of the Rover. The Rover bush was prone to failure because it allowed too much movement and sheer of the rubber bush. The near identical Ford version has buffers either side of the rubber, to restrict its movement at extreme torque.

It is still installed, still working absolutely fine, no vibration issues.

I minimise use of clutch slip and as a result tend to get a bit of judder occasionally. To fix that I just need to deliberately slip the clutch a bit, to clean the friction surfaces.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Default How to fit power flex insert

If you decide to use a power flex rubber insert below is how to fit it into the original alloy mount.

You will need to purchase the Yellow power flex insert for your petrol or diesel car.

Petrol mount link
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Powerflex...cAAOSwYwJaA0fF

Diesel mount link.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Powerflex...AAAOSwxA9aBGiS

To Remove the old torn original mount insert you can hammer it out over a vice or in my case with regards to the photo a metal gate it is easier though if you hold in in a vice pass an hacksaw blade through the gap in the insert and cut the inner alloy, this can then be bent inwards and the insert will drop out.

Knock or cut out the original insert

Now you have the original mount to accept the power flex insert, hold it in a vice and chamfer the edges with a file to aid the insert to be pushed through.

3

The power flex insert come with a small sachet of grease use this to help the rubber insert go through the alloy mount, also a small piece of wood or broom handle chamfered will be needed.

4

5

Grease both the alloy mount & the insert
6

7

Offer up the insert to the alloy mount.
8

You now use the little bit of wood/broom handle you have to help push in the rim of the insert into the alloy mount.
9

working round the edge of the insert
10

11

Finally up to the top pushing through the last part of the rim.
12

13

14

You can now push the yellow insert all the way through with your hand.
15

16

The mount is now ready for you to fit back on the car.
17

The only part left to fit is the metal pin that come with the power flex personally I like to use the original metal & Nylon insert.

18

Original metal insert which as been skinned
19

Push the metal insert through the yellow rubber insert.
20

In my case the original inset is used.
21

22

Cheers Arctic.
