Default Alpine cd changer harmony

Hi i have recently installed a alpine 6 disc changer in the glovebox of my 75 and have used the vul100310 wiring harness to connect everything up. The cd changer turns on and plays but there is no sound output. If i switch back to radio the sound is there as normal. One thing i did noticed i that on the cd changer plug there seems to be a blue wire going in to wiring block where they connect with nothing corresponding with it at the other end.

Any help would be much appreciated i can get pics of needed

Thanks Steve

Hi Steve, I have exactly the same problem. I am taking the car to an audio specialist this Sat where I live in the hope that he can shed some light on the problem. If he can I will get back to you with the solution.
Phil

Hi Steve,
Ref your problem. It is to do with the wiring harness you have. There is a small square plug in a metal case/clip held by a blue plastic rectangular clip. Take the plastic clip out, remove the metal clip, turn the plug round and fit it back together and it should now give you sound. It was that causing the problem I had and the audio tech I took the car to spotted the problem as it seems the harness had been put together wrong when it was been made.
Hope this is of some help to you
Regards
Phil

Default Thank you

My VUL100310 was incorrectly manufactured too - thanks to this thread I was well prepared and fitted my CD changer successfully today. Thanks
