Default Traction control warning light

Hi all, wow, not posted for nearly a year..............which can only mean that nothing has gone wrong with the cdti!!
And as if that were not good enough, I'm asking this question on behalf of a friend.
I have had a quick search but can't find the specific answer to my question.

75 2.5 V6. Traction control warning light came on. It was taken to a garage with MG/Rover facilities. First thought was the speed sensor(s) but that turned out not to be the case. Diagnostics have failed to find the problem either. Any ideas to avoid open ended investigatory bills?
Not likely to be a connector or something silly?

Cheers all.

Sorry having a slow evening, Is this when car being driven?
does it go out if Manually Switched off?
When you say warning light, the Traction control light comes on at startup and when in operation,
I take it this one is just staying on permanently?

Thanks for the reply.

The light comes on with ignition, as normal. The light then fails to go out at all. Turning the TC on and off makes no difference at all.
Diagnostics have shown nothing wrong, which confused the garage.
That is about all I can tell you.

Cheers.

Always cheapest and easiest thing to try is Battery reset.
Disconnect the Battery for 20 Minutes,
this resets the Computers.
Worth a try first.
Make sure you have any required radio codes before starting and if Sat Nav fitted follow correct shutdown procedures.
