She said she found a book of 1st class stamps pinned up on Mikes notice board and can use one of them for the task. I was disappointed by the red tape.

I had a miserable day yesterday, using buses, many changes and over 4O bus stops to and from the registrar for deaths, 5 hours and got back wiped out. He refused to register the death as I am not a blood relative and must provide him with a letter of authority first from a family member. He kept the death certificate, citing it his property but would not do the register, blah and humbug. Red tape mess up.... Mike did not want any of his family involved in tying up his affairs or sorting out the funeral. What a pain and a delay to the funeral and probate.

A few years ago my wife's sister in law died, when we were asked for next of kin we did not know of anybody as she had been adopted as a baby. So my wife said "i suppose i am closes to next of kin". We were then held responsible for funeral expenses.
