hello
my name is peter and i am from the Netherlands. i had a bit of bad luck and so i had to buy an other engine. i was sold an engine as 55 plate and as it arrived i was very happy. now as i am bolting on the ancillaries i noticed that the engines are not the same. my old engine has a lower engine mount wich is different from the new one. also there are a few other things that just dont match. now i tried to check what engine ive been sold but i cant find the right information. my old engines number is 25k4fn45 186493 the new one is25k4fm02 161753 could anyone tell me why the engines are different and if the engine i have been sold actually is a 55 plate engine. i hope you can help me . thanks peter |

Model year and calendar year can be a long way apart. When I was working at Land Rover it was decided to introduce and build the 1995 MY Discovery in Feb 1994, purely to simplify production and design changes.

VIn CODES Identification - Where is Celeste?
Hello to all of you!
On Rover 75 I`ve found the following: H = Classic & Classic SE (TL2) S = Club & Club SE (“Comfort” TL4) Z = Connoisseur & Connoisseur SE (TL7) C = Contemporary & Contemporary SE (TL8) Question: Where is Celeste in this ? What is the hierarchy? Is the Contemporary better ( more options ) than Connoisseur, for example? Many thanks!

After reading all the posts in this thread I'm sure the best bet is to totally ignore any information contained in here.

Use Carfax to decode your VIN. Their data are pretty limited but you can also use quickrevs to work out your VIN for more detailed info. Anyway I wish you good luck!

The original hierarchy was:
For 'facelift' cars it was:
Connoisseur and Contemporary were different rather than one or other being "better". The Connoisseur continued the traditional theme whereas the Contemporary was for those who preferred a modern style (principally an all-black interior). Celeste was used as a trim level for export vehicles I believe but I don't know what its UK equivalent was. Simon

Omg, I actually have a Plus spec after all Only sign was in the book, which I believed was misspelled - nothing in car registry, nothing on car.info, and it's missing equipment like rear power windows and trip computer. This is the best day ever, thank you so much <3
