ZT shocks replacement
Hi Y'all!
I need 2 new rear shocks on my ZT. Done just over 90k so not bad! I was wondering whether it would be worthwhile considering replacing the front ones as well and take the option of lowereing the car!!! Any advice as to cost and recommended suppliers would be useful (that is, of course, on the proviso that it is the done tghing to do!!) Car is 05 plate ZT CDTi - saloon!

If the fronts are ok why not leave and just replace the rears, changing the shocks won't lower the car so you will then need 4 springs. Depends on what your after as the zt's handle well standard

I wouldn't like to lower mine with the size of the speedbumps in this area:lol:

I ordered my new OME shocks weeks ago! Still on order - no-one seems to have any at all!
Checked with all local ex-rover garages and my contact in X-Part and had the same story! I thought all was OK with parts now!!

I'd just buy a good brand replacement. Shock's aren't exactly complicated.
A mate of mine recently bought an A4, he put harder + lower springs than on my ZT, along with 18", it's too hard IMO for everyday driving.

The ZT's poise and handling is excellent as standard. Lowering and stiffening it will only spoil what I think is a near-perfect set-up. IMHO of course.
