Default Alarm Switch Off.

Can any one help? My 02 MG ZT alarm has decided to keep going off. All doors and windows shut but keeps doing it every 20 mins or so. Tried disarming and just using the key in the drivers lock, but still goes off. Wits end now as people keep staring at the car.

I did think of that but was not too sure what the fuse controlled with in the loom.

Put the key in the door to lock, turn once to lock doors, then turn to lock again.

I think that would be how to disarm. I'm sure there is info on the correct procedure

The most common cause of the alarm being triggered, is the bonnet switch. Its the same for almost all cars, the switches catch all the weather located at the front there.

Not sure how to get to it, but you could confirm it by shorting its connections out and then seeing if it triggers with it bypassed.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Opened the bonnet to have a look. Just as well, the pleniums were blocked and full of water (car sat for 2 months unused due to illness).

Will fit the Jules mod to prevent it again.

Once bonnet closed again, no more horn.

Today will have a look at the switch.

Many thanks for the advice.
