Favour from someone in Lincoln
I have a favour to ask if you stay in Lincoln, I've just agreed to buy a Connie se v6 from a seller in Lincoln, could someone go and pick the car up for me and keep it until Monday when I could come down and get it? He's free Saturday or I'd have to wait until next Wednesday.
Would anyone be so kind? |

Still insured and taxed, but if someone does offer I'll have it insured and taxed myself for them collecting it. If not me and my dad will drive down on Wednesday as it's cheaper for us to drive down and bring both cars back up than getting a train!

I found that Network rail's own website was where I found the best rail fare deals. Both times I needed to use the train to collect a car, South Wales and Richmond in London, both time they far way cheaper than some certain well advertised site. In fact the trip to Suth Wales cost less than half that the Trainline.com wanted for the very same seats!!!

The trainline were £105.40 for a single, my octavia will do the journey on about £40 of diesel returning, and I reckon I'll do the 266 miles home on £30 - 40 in the 75, so that's £80 for 2 people as opposed to £105.40 for 1 lol.
I'll check out other rail sites though and see what I get but if push comes to shove I don't mind, the octavia is a taxi so already has high miles for its age. |

Have you tried doing the split ticketing thing? You often save money on long distance train journeys using it.

Yeah it's 3 trains I'd need to take, Glasgow to Edinburgh, Edinburgh to Doncaster and then Doncaster to Lincoln. My dads coming with me so we're gonna just drive. If it doesn't get moved on Saturday I'll need to wait until the Wednesday lol, I'm just desperate to get it haha.
