Default 'Wallander' - Beeb One

Wallander - terrific stuff on Sunday: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00pxtct

The excellent Ken Branagh again. Best thing he ever did though was 'Shackleton' - an outstanding piece of film-making.

You should watch the Swedish version they show on BBC4, I think its better. You'll have to read the subtitles though, unless you speak Swedish!

Yes I've seen the Swedish version - it's good but I prefer the UK version. Branagh was talking about it on Radio 4 last week.

At one point they were filming a scene for the UK Wallander on a railway platform. By pure coincidence another crew was filming the Swedish Wallander on the very next platform at exactly the same time.

The two 'Wallanders' just waved at each other, then both crews carried on shooting. What a hoot!

Allways fancied going to Sweden but it looks a bit bleak on this programme. Have you seen any other cars other than Volvo's on it?

A few SAABs and Audis. VW of course. If they were to come around my area then a couple of Rovers, and a Triumph Stag

Skåne (pronounced skaune - e as in fence) is the flat part of Sweden, used to belong to Denmark at one stage. The area looks more like Denmark than the rest of Sweden. The people have an accent you could cut with a knife, more akin to the accent in Copenhagen than Sweden

Watched a few of the progs but didn´t think much to them. The britts do a lot better

I must say that it is a perfect landscape for driving a Rover. I wouldn´t say that I agree with the above statement in regards to the accent, since I´m from the place.
The lack of color in the British version is a bit sad. A lot of the beauty is lost. But anhow, it is a great series.

The UK Wallander is shot on the 'Red One' high definition camera system which is top notch - http://www.red.com/. I think they de-saturated the pics in post-production, hence the apparently low colour.

Either way, Episode 3 was superb.
