TOAF and EWS
Can the EWS (immobiliser on A-post behind dash) be tested with TOAF 5 ? I want to test it before I go to the expense of replacing it.

Yes, Toaf will tell you if there are communications problems with the immobiliser chip etc. Perhaps the best testing tool is your eyes, check the incoming wiring and open the box and check for water damage.
The EWS is one of the modules that is not straight forward to replace if you’re thinking of just changing it. If a change is needed have a word with Big Russ, Jamie etc. Regards |

I agree with the above posts.
I repaired the sunroof drains and replaced the carpet in mine, and managed to disturb the plug on mine...... The sunroof drain wasn't my problem however, it was filth and mud under the windscreen trims and scuttle trims that were diverting rainwater over and above some welded body seems, that then drip directly onto the control unit you describe. Take it out, dry it out, and clean the hell out of everything. Think of it it as preventive maintenance |

No noises or clunks from engine bay when starting attempted. Will tow start, and runs well (diesel) water ingress in O/S footwell - sunroof drain disconnected from bulkhead Central locking - functions correctly no blown fuses |

I believe that the fact that it will tow start rules out the immobiliser, but take a look at the EWS. This is what the owner and I found on a local car: https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=312290 post 4.
One pin is missing. Hope you've checked the spade terminal on the starter solenoid. Regards PS I've no idea what side O/S is, left & right much easier. |
