Just watched this: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/l...es-1/episode-1

An outstanding documentary.

I watched the same, and found it a very moving piece of television.

Sadly, there are many more cases of crimes abroad which are not reported. I think of my sister and her friend, who were very nearly raped by four soldiers when travelling in India, and only got out of that one by convincing the soldiers that the outcome would not be good, that they would be prosecuted.

Also, even on holidays, safety can be tenuous. I have a friend whose sister was a tour rep for a well known holiday company. She worked for a while in a well known resort in a country now new to the EU, and the amount of druggings and sexual assaults at the hands of the local men were both horrific and hushed up in equal measures.

Not everywhere plays by British rules. Sadly many young and vulnerable people either forget or disregard that. Usually to their cost.

The British government isn't so hot on the fair play front either. I sent a wee note to Lindsay's parents last night after watching Cutting Edge. They wrote back and said they'd had no support from the government - what an absolute disgrace, I am disgusted.
