I was out one day with my mate, he had a CBR1000, I had the ST. He got ahead of me, I came round a right hand bend, he was sitting at the roadside a bit further on. I stopped, he was actually shaking! Said he had no idea how he'd got round the last corner. We went back and there were actually tyre tracks on the embankment about a foot above road level, he'd done a wall of death! Rest of the ride was rather sedate.

Just a bit of an update with a little copied post from the BSB website.

If you want to see the action this weekend then tune into Quest TV on freeview, they will be showing live racing from Donington park on both Saturday and Sunday.
Cheers Ian

My son has an R1 Anniversary Edition and I dread it every time he’s out on it.

Last year he was supposed to drop us off at the airport but delegated this task to our younger son.
At the time he should have been picking us up at home he was lying by the roadside after crawling about 50 yds. through rough terrain and a ditch. He mis judged the length of road between two corners and simply washed out.

He was extremely lucky with just bruises and his bike, although insurers wanted to write it off was back repaired by my son within weeks.
It needed a full set of exterior trim which the lucky NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- purchased new off eBay from someone making an R1 into race trim so didn’t require the road trim

I hope he learned a lesson

Day 1 Donington Park free practice
A little off the pace today and unsure quite why but hopfull of an improvement today before qualifying and race one later.
Having said that 1.3 seconds covering the top 20 or so on the grid.
When did that last happen in F1?

Well that didn't quite go to plan.
Got quicker but had an off in free practice 3 and broke collarbone.
But I suspect he will be back in the saddle for Brands next month.

Heres a still of Ryans sudden exit from the Donington BSB weekend.
You can see the bike exiting right.

He's on the mend and already talking about the next round
