Default Daylight robbery

Ok.. this is serious.

A subject very close to my heart..

BISCUITS!

As you can see from the pictures, Lidl are now packaging custard cream biscuits like this...

Now if you package them as they used to be, you would get at least another three biscuits in there.

I feel robbed! Bl00dy Germans, they bombed our chip shops as well ya know!

Not just biscuits

We bought Lidlís quilted toilet paper and were disappointed to find the hole in the middle was nearly double the diameter than it used to be!!

Also I like oat cakes and at 55p Lidlís ones were great value compared to about £1.09 for other makes.

But just as with the custard creams each inner bag now only contains 5 oat cakes rather than the 7 it used to be.

I also like their Greak Yogurt - the Coconut one especially. The pot used to come with a nice handle and these pots were washed and ideal for DIY jobs like painting as they were just the right size and could filled with paint - be hung off a ladder etc.

Now theyíve changed the pots to ones without handles.

Luckily I have a few handled ones still

I'm usually the first one for a bargain, but I detest Lidl and Aldi food, we tried a weekly shop there once; never again.

We find Lidl very good overall - their meat especially. Generally the quality is excellent and I do like the Genuine Greek and Spanish products the occasionally get in.

But the most notable benefit is a normal trolly load for us is about £140 in Morrisons or Sainsburyís etc. The same trolly load in Lidlís is about £100. Iím no Scrooge believe me - but we do find Lidlís very good. The Ringwood store especially.

We buy about 10 fresh croissants and freeze them - I think they are about 50p each. The same thing but smaller in our local Coop are 78p each.

Their wines are particularly good.

Which is why I find the pack size shenanigans rather disappointing.

Shrinkflation strikes again.

Kelloggs now have pack sizes 375gm instead of 500gm

CUSTARD CREAMS:? eek:, How can you eat such rubbish.
Surely you could at least stretch to Bourbon Creams. Just as rubbish, but taste much nicer.

Hobnobs!!

(Will that get through the swear filter??)

Lidlís do their own version called ďOatiesĒ I think - last time I looked they were less than half the price of the branded item - and side by side - they taste and look the same.

Now come on Clive we are talking class biscuits there. This thread is about cheap trashy biscuits that still taste nice..,Morrison’s do their own choc hob nobs, can’t remember what they are called, but they are about the same, half the price of the real thing. Atm our local S/bury is selling the large pack of choc hobnobs for the same price as the small pack, well you just have to buy them don’t you? It would be rude not to.

I would find toilet paper with a hole in the middle a bit tricky to use no matter how big the hole was.

They are definitely taking the biscuit. As for the Germans, the Fokkers were everywhere but they didn't like it up them.
