I looked at this a few years ago. I had an 806 with a 2000kg towing limit and I wanted to move my 604 which from memory is 1500kg, so you would think that it would be possible.

The problem was that when I called several trailer hire places they all said that their car trailers weighed 800kg empty, and so with the car on I would be over the limit.

In the end I went on shiply and found someone to move it and it wasn't too expensive.

Many, many years ago I got in a bad snake at only 30mph and crashed with a car trailer on the back, it was seriously bad news and I was lucky that the police didn't get involved and that no-one got hurt.

To get a 2 ton plus trailer to be safe and stable you probably want something like 150kg on the towball, and there aren't many vehicles which can do that. Cut down on the nose weight and you have an unstable and dangerous trailer which is basically trying to swap ends all the time and will just take a lighter car with it.
