ZT Brake Problem
I sometimes have to really push hard on the brakes for them to start working, the pedal feels very hard then all of a sudden the pedal will move a inch or so and the car starts braking as normal
Is this air in the system or something or has anyone had this problem I changed the pads last week but i did that because of this issue but when i removed the old pads there was loads of meat still left on them, as a matter of course i changed them anyway

Would try bleeding them first, but it sounds like a Master Cylinder problem to me, sure someone else will be along soon to help.

Also check the calipers to confirm that the pistons are moving properly and that the sliding half is moving freely on the guide pins. Notice of one pad is worn more than the other. It's a good check for sticking calipers. If the caliper is operating normally, both pads will have about the same friction pad thickness.

When i removed the pads they had worn evenly and when fitting the new pads the piston were very easy to push back

Servo?
Iirc the cdt has a vacuum pump for the servo at the battery end is the hose ok? you could try clamping the hose and see if the brakes are the same i.e hard which could suggest no servo assistance but keep your distance from anything in front! |

Is that only on the CDT cos i have the KV6 ?
There is assistance but you have to press hard then it all of a sudden works, feels like it could be compressing the air then once its done that it works but im no mechanic

I'm not familiar with the workings of modern servo systems, is this electronically switched or could it be a faulty valve sticking, or both?

I would thoroughly check the pipe from servo to inlet manifold, a split or rubbing hose would be my first guess.
Not sure of the routing on the v6 though sorry.

Same theory though find the hose check for problems etc on the KV6 it connects to the manifold by the Vis motors |
