door lock button issue

Black door lock button missing (comes normally up as door unlocked) so Driver's side door trim removed (with help of Haynes) but me (and Haynes?) no idea exactly where and how to fit the door button with lever and green plastic stop.
Did not find anything on youtube too.
Anyone any suggestions.

I think the green plastic fitting fits into the electric door lock and the rod pushes into the green plastic fitting. The rod is not needed.
