Default Problems with Xenon.

Well i was driving to work on Wednesday and bulb failure come on dash, i could see from the car infront (sitting at lights) that is was the n/s xenon.
Well got in the car to go home and both xenon working but then a pulled up behind the car infront i could see the n/s was not so bright and had a tint of blue.

Any ideas?

The 1st pic is o/s and the 2nd pic is the n/s

Can't see any pics???

You can buy new burners for the Xenon's, about £30 - £50 IIRC

Xenon burners do not last forever.

Hard to tell anything from them, as they both look nice and bright.

As I say replacement burners are available, if needed.

Also the connector may have come loose off of the back, they just twist on IIRC.

I replaced the burners in mine and it is a very simple job, well it was with the lights off the car.

The old ones in mine were working fine. I'm a little OCD with new cars, I always replace all the bulbs and the wipers.

I'll have a rummage in the garage and see if I still have the old ones. If I do you can have them for the price of the postage and then you can try swapping them out to see if it sorts it?

I would try the connector 1st though, just to see if it has worked loose.

Although burners do nave a very long service life,a member on here informs me he has not suffered a failure in eight years of ownership.I would be inclined to make a replacement of both, they can be purchased from as little as £15.00 a pair from eBay.

When the light unit is removed check all the associated wiring for chaffing and connection too.

No problem.

As I say I'll have a hunt for the old ones in the garage over the weekend, in between heavy rain storms if this morning is anything to go by.

The car is now just over 10 years old and 90k miles and is still on its original burners.
