Auto dimming mirror
Hi, can anyone tell me which wires are for what on an auto dimming mirror,
ie, earth, switched live and ignition live, I have a brown one a blue and green one and a purple and white one and a big thankyou in advance.

Hi Pete the colours you mention dont tally up with the how to.
the three wires need to be ign live. reversing selected live. earth. Have a look here for some tips http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...1&postcount=55

Sounds like its a mirror from a Bmw, no problem i fitted a Bmw one before!

Thanks for the replies but I need to know which coloured wire is which on the actual mirror so I don't wire it up wrong, theres a brown one a blue & green one and a purple & white one on the mirror, thanks.

Well you lost me!
Ive check the wiring details on the MGR and they dont match yours, i also checked all the Bmw mirrors and they dont match! Are these colours the wires coming out of the mirror?

Hi Simon, yes they are, I think it might be a case of trial & error iv'e had a look at the plug at the bottom of the A pillar and the wires don't correspond with either the white or black plug iv'e read about on the forum. Iv'e got a white plug with 7 wires to it 1 earth 1 permanant live
3 ignition live and 2 that don' light my tester up at all.

I've got the same problem as mine has 6 wire coming out of the mirror and I don't which ones to use.
