MIKE,
My first meet since I joined the club V/many thanks for organising the loc.including the pub for Sunday Lunch which was excellent value! Gatekeeper - V/many thanks for the pics - I didn't realise how lovely the Sea frost blue is when taken by a photographer that can work all the buttons. Thanks also to ? (sorry forgot handle) to the car minder whilst the remainderof us stuffed ourselves with a sunday roast. At least you watched your in-car tv in comfort whilst we ate. Very nostalgic as I grew up in the Poole area and it must 50+ yrs since I was last in the park when I sailed my model boat in the lake! Although I go to the harbour and sing occassionally in the Lighthouse -next there on 22 Sep, the park area has been missed off my tour since we returned to Dorset from living in Shropshire for the last 40 yrs. What a diverse and very knowledgable group you all are ; many thanks to all for the advice, info and general facts. In the light of remarks from some of you regarding local garages and their alledged ability to disable cars for 10 days when using the T1/4 equipment I have decided that for the 90000 service, which is almost due I will contact FJ Chalke of Mere Wilts whom I used a few yrs ago for a R600 diesel. They were the main Rover dealers for the area and still have all the kit and the mechanics albeit they now sell KIA cars. Count me in please for the New Forest Meet at Sammy Millers' museum when the other half will also participate. Kind regards to all Colin |

Thanks again to Scribler, for laying on a great 'mini meet' at Poole.
Nice to welcome some new faces and make new friends. Again, there were some lovely well looked after cars present. I might try & make the New Forest Meet trimani (Alf) |

Would just like to add my thanks to Scribbler for organising this meet. Was good to meet all who were there and have a friendly chat. Looking forward to the next one. Will certainly be attending the New Forest one in a couple of weeks.

I should have replied to this earlier but it's been a very hectic week and I've bareley been near a computer. Nice to meet you all, sorry we didn't join you for lunch, but we went for walk through the park to the Quay and got soaked on the way when the heavens opened. Then had a look round the shops and had some ice cream in the high street (the rain was short lived) so a very pleasant afternoon. Thanks. |
