Can you define for me please what constitutes a 'proper' t4 operator I know Phil-T4 and admire very much his diligence and willingness to help others, but others do have similar skills even though the may not be
be recognised by the management of the club as yet.

Thanks very much

As a new member, (just 10 minutes ago) I will certainly make every effort to pop along and meet you all.
Think I met a few of you at Lulworth Castle Classic Show and you seemed a friendly lot.
Lookin' forward to it.

Hi Mike...

I think most of us will know who you are referring to here

I agree that this "other member" would be able to offer his assistance if asked to do so... What I will say though is that Phil-T4 is a T4 operator that can offer ALL services that the T4 offers.. This includes the 160 diesel re map, Keys, diagnosis, X power remaps and all the usual stuff...

Not all T4 operators can do this, and I am 99% sure that the guy of which you speak can't offer all services.. The 160 map for sure

I know the guy helps out members in your area and I applaud him for that

I would not take the title of this thread to be a dig at your friend though Mike... I very much doubt it was intended that way mate

Thanks very much for your interpetation of 'proper' on those grounds I would have to agree that Phil T4 does offer a comprehensive service to one and all and is greatly appreicated by all members, indeed I have been tempted by the 160 upgrade myself but still resisting

I accept our member doesnt have all phils skills as yet but he is hoping to improve them over time & offer a fuller service to members.

It just seems a pity that in a area of the country where T4 service is scare, we cant let the past go and move on to a better service for our
cars

On a personal note I would like to thank you for your help and kindmess to me on more than one occasion & the wonderful meets you have organized at Caldecotte Arms

Mike, if you'd like a definition of a "proper" T4 operator, Phil-T4 is the definitive, the man has far superior knowledge of the system than even the T4 technical helpdesk at X-Part.

I know the person you're alluding to, and while he's getting there, simply owning a T4 does not mean you're fully competent in it's use

I've owned my T4 for over eight years, and I wouldn't have dreamed about "diagnosing" other people's cars for the first three of those.

As ever, it's a case of learning to walk before you run

Well Brian Im sure he would be the first to say he owes a great deal to you and your kindness helping him in the beginning to get set up and yes clearly one has to be very careful and acknowledge your limits which I believe he does, and yes Phil T4 is probably the best operator in the uk
who is modest and doesnt comment on other peoples skills or like thereof.

I think its time to close the book on the past and move forward some clearly find that hard to do (not meaning you ) and I personally find that very sad but thats life I guess
