Default MPG (Diesel owners may look away now!)

Just back from a short visit to Liverpool in the '75 - my first long trip in the car.

On the way up, I refilled at Sandbach services, and by the time I reached the Thirwell viaduct, my trip computer was showing a healthy 42.1 mpg!! I know the trip computer isn't that accurate (mine overreads by about 2 mpg), but even so, it's still around the 40mpg mark.

Unfortunately, I had to do a few miles around the city itself which bought the average down, but after filling up again once back home, it came out at an overall avareage of 35.28 mpg (using the brim to brim method). I should add that the atc was on throughout the entire journey, although I did drive a bit like a, well, a Rover 75 owner I suppose!

All in all, not bad for a 2.0 V6. If only it would do it all the time!

Cliff

PS - the car behaved impeccably throughout - but then you wouldn't expect anything else, would you.

Mostly around 65 mph using cruise control.

I couldn't have stuck at that speed in any other car, but the '75 is such a nice place to be it almost seems a shame when you arrive anywhere.

Default Brim to brim

Hi I have just travelled to Kent and using that method on the motorway at night, early morning,is there any other time to travel? I have returned 29.9mpg on a round trip of 280 miles.
Other wise its around 24 but I can live with that.

Impressive. I had intended to buy a Diesel. I knew exactly what I was after - Midnight Blue 2.0 CDT Conn SE with cream leather & sat nav. I somehow ended up with a 2.0 V6 in Lagoon with a Symphony radio - got the Conn SE bit right though!
