Disconnected the vacuum pipe from the EGR....no change..still losing boost after a couple of miles.....still kicking back in at 4k revs and running ok for a little while before doing it all over again.

One more piece of information that might help.....the previous owner has fitted a non return valve between the under bonnet fuel pump and the fuel filter.....he said he fitted the non return valve to stop fuel draining back to the tank over night as it was making it difficult to start in the morning?
Maybe it is fuel starvation after all? |

Some non- return valves have built in restrict its. No reason for it to drain, unless there is an air leak. Check the pipes to the FBH (fuel)

However...I've just tried it with the non return valve removed......no change!
I don't have a FBH (fuel burning heater?).... |

Have you done a leak-back test on the injectors?
All kinds of strange things can happen if you have one or two leaky injectors. |

No, I haven't done that yet.
The fault codes that I had return after clearing P1e30- boost control P0500- speed sensor P1470- boost control ......would suggest a boost problem? Then there's the speed sensor.....dodgy signals to the ECU? |

Just found this;
P1470 Variable intake manifold actuator 1 - valve always open Variable intake manifold actuator 1 function - valve always opened What is a 'Variable intake manifold actuator' ? Has the diesel even got them? Also apparently the Mil light should be showing with that code.......it isn't?
