Snow is coming down so hard it keeps triggering the motion sensor on the outside lights. Clearing the path earlier was a waste of time, so much has fallen since its about back to what it was. Stood at the front door watching the snow, saw one car go past on what is normally the fairly busy road, good that nobody is daft enough to venture out but doesn't bode well for the state of the roads in the morning. Have to say the weather is living up to the red warning!

Just got home from mate's 60th birthday meal - what a journey home!
Most of the roads are verging on impassable - there has been so much heavy snow this evening, compounded with a strong wind blowing snow off the fields and onto the roads. Loads of times when I experienced a whiteout - so much snow you couldn't see where the road finished and the verge started. Give Honda their due - the 4 wheel drive system on the CRV definitely works - I can vouch for it

It was all worth it - I'm now full of:
Breaded mushrooms, deep fried, with garlic sauce
Beef lasagne - a HUGE dish full with homemade chips and various salad/veg
Banoffee pie, with strawberries, toffee sauce and lashings of fresh cream
..... all washed down by a pint of Stowford Press cider.

Brilliant video Phil
I didn't get into anything quite that heavy on the way home - but there were a few hairy moments. Unless there is a dramatic improvement overnight, this area is going to be virtually shut down tomorrow, with even some major roads totally impassable.

Just got up for a pee. Had a peak out the window. Can’t believe how much more snow has fallen.
We must have 8-10” now...

No more snow has fallen here but the wind has picked up and any snow that has been compacted down is turning to ice

I won’t be going out to work today me thinks

Morning all no more snow either here.
When the beast goes away you know what comes next Floods.
Got a pump in the pond recirculating the water but even that has frozen just one big icicle.

Cool

A light dusting here overnight but the skies are looking very heavy with more snow. I've not been out since last Sunday, got plenty of supplies in.

Stay safe if you have to go out.

Morning from Siberia, sorry Scotland. Long, long time since we've had snow like this here. I cleared the path late yesterday afternoon, there's about 6" of fresh snow on it that fell in the evening/overnight. I got up for a pee about 4am, glanced out the window, snow was heaving it down. Poppy loves the snow but even she wasn't sure when I opened the back door to let them out, never seen that much.

Very few people venturing out, virtually no traffic passing the cottages, all bus services are suspended indefinitely.
