Default Please help save this Giraffe

Please help save this 18 month old Giraffe, only a few hours to go before it's killed with a bolt gun and fed to the lions.

Please read http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...s-9116786.html

Please follow the link on the above website and sign the petition

I don't normally post appeals to sign petitions but I am so disgusted by this so called zoo that I am breaking my own rules. Please sign if you can

Thanks

Ken

The link is in the story not the big link on the right. It's about three quarters of the way down. Here it is http://www.thepetitionsite.com/528/6...-bolt-gun-now/

Thanks for caring

Disgraceful.

Absolutely abhorrent. Zoos are absolutely unnecessary and outdated and need to be closed. I do not accept any argument that zoos prevent species from becoming extinct. If this is the case then extinction beats captivity. Poor creature, I hope it does have a reprieve or at least a more humane death. Cruel Bar Stewards.

Have to agree about zoos, even seemingly well run places like longleat are sad. After seeing the lone, albeit rescued elephant there a few years back. On the other hand, and yes it is very sad to see, culling in the wild is a reality. I have spent more than just a few hours or days in the wild, watched elephant, rhino and even two giraffes fight to near death. Been "lucky" enough to see a few lion kills. Even spent a few night with a lion cub sleeping on the foot of my bed-they smell. Nature is cruel, but human nature often no better.

I know it is not an answer for this poor creature, just a different perspective.

PS. Our beloved mutt is a rescue animal & I have voted
