Default "You have scared the com network"

Me again, yes have checked what I could get to, even removed the Engine fusebox, but no damage could be seen. I checked every fuse in the (facelift) passenger’s fusebox and all where intact. I've studied the RAVE elec. library and connectors and still have no idea why the problems are still there. Only one other thing occurred since the original problems and that was I found the drivers wing mirror had been forced forward, when i use the powerfold switch it did not return. As I do not usually use this folding facility, I'd not noticed the fact that this facility had failed. All other mirror adjustments function, except that, on start up they default to passenger side but I can still, switch to and adjust the drivers mirror. Help!

Why would the LSM influence my maladies? And I don't know who has a "spare" LSM to loan me! (This area, in Berkshire, is dominated by "nutters" in BMW's and are now upgrading to Land Rover and Jag's).

Well... the lsm controls the lights.... including the fogs and indicators... and it's on the k-bus, which is prone to interference... like wiring a temp sensor in...??

Thanks for the reply but my orignal problem was a fauly side light bulb. When replaced the "light" fault indicator extinguished.

Hi Klarzy - I do appreciate you help but my original faults as posted were -
"I've similar probems (power fold mirrows won't, ATC digital temp. setting goes from "22 C" to "Er"), after I replaced a blown side light bulb after a Canbus error. I'll try the battery disconnect (30 mins) and let the forum know results. Thanks in advance." Nothing to do with a temperature sensor.

I think the favourites here would be chaffed wiring over the front member or water in the main wiring bundle over the near side wheel arch.

Default Problem with ATC and Door mirror control

KLARZY - has identified that a cable is grounded (earlier posts). I followed his advice and checked the front chassis member cables could not find a problem.
Using TOAF and a VAG KKL diagnostic to USB cable I found a fault as follows-
15- Brake Light Switch, Short Circuit to Ground.
Error count 31
Error still present (after a full scan this is the only fault “still present”).

Having identified the switch (actually a Hall effect transistor device) and stripped out the trim necessary to access the switch and connector (C0075) I find it impossible to access either. Is there a“knack” or an unknown access panel or do I have to dismantle the “dash” to access this connector, Or, perhaps I’m wasting my time as the fault lies at the other end of connector C0075, which RAVE has not revealed to me so far.
I’ve spent most of my 40 years of my working life designing electrical circuit diagrams, other than latter Project Management roles, and I do understand electrical/electronic diagrams, so “HELP” to anyone out there, who is of a similar mind, and has any advice PLEASE.

HI Den.
I think you will find that ( Brake Light Switch, Short Circuit to Ground) error will always be there, it is on the T4 when ever I have seen the faults come up on any car, I could be wrong but I am sure a T4 guru will tell us.

If so it is sending you down the wrong track, note first line in the photo, and I have seen that on every car at the nano which goes on the T4

Did Pete the original PO sort his problem out ? it seems he never got back to tell us.
