Handbrake caliper replacement thingy
Apologies for the newbie nature of this post, but I've recently been browsing the forum and read the excellent how-to for this but just wondered what the symptoms were that would indicate it was necessary.

Chris. Work on the 1.8T New pads &cs all round, Bonnet Catch Reversed, Plenums Cleaned, Renewed Selected Radiator Hoses, New Stainless Steel Twin Exhaust,Metal T-Piece, Head Skimmed and MLS Head Gasket, New Cambelt & Alternator Belt, New PRT & Water Pump, New Air Duct Hose, New Radiator, New plugs, coil packs & HT leads, Golden Radiator Resistor. Car then blew up and I gave up. Bought the ZT 190 instead ! |

Signs of a stretched compensator are too much travel on the lever after you have adjusted the brakes at the rear wheels (Normally the adjuster nut on the lever will be at full adjustment!)

noticable , when lever is pointing at the sunroof switch instead of the ash tray assembly area....
