I noticed the anti-pinch windows the other day. There is a sensor in the weather strip at the top that will automatically retract the windows if something gets trapped in them and pushes against the sensor. I tried it, it works, but it takes a bit of nerve the first time you try it..

Reading this thread, Sadly - I think it was where ‘Rover’ ‘ BL’ etc. always went wrong, everything was an optional extra - at cost of course! When the Japanese / European rivals were fitting them as standard.

I have the so called SE version of the Contemporary but it really only brought it up to the standard spec. of mid range rivals at the time. Although I love the 75 I was quite disappointed at what was supposed to be the top of the range spec.
Every gadget it has was on my previous standard spec Renault (an awful car by the way!).

Mine has an "enhanced audible bad driving warning system" - think Hyacinth Bucket!

To some degree, but BMWs and Mercs used to come with nothing as well, even a radio!

Lesser cars pile in the extras to make them seen better value, when really the bits they fitted were poor quality. Ive seen it on 80s and 90s fords and Vauxhalls and now with Korean brands. The extras work, but are either pointless or extremely cheap to fit. Makes the spec list look good..
