Having said mine last steamed when HG went, Saturday saw steam appear again, the top hose has a small split close to the T-Piece, as a temporary measure hose shortened and reconnected. The hoses all appear original so on a 9 year old car must all be ready for replacement. Rimmer price is way out of order (price of 2 mid range tyres) so checking now for OAT resistant silicon hoses.

When the coolant gets up to temp the system comes under pressure so silicone to block a leak is useless I'm afraid...
