I know not a 75, but my friends rover 25 has the same problem, however she has replaced the fuel filter and it still wont start. Are there any easy things for her to try? I've looked on the darkside but cant find much.

Any ideas? Cheers!

Sorry cant help with the 25.

But I've been made to feel guilty enough that I've gone and ordered the clip too !! Only taken me 3 years, wonder how long it'll take me to fit it?

My advice for whats its worth is if you have the clip, fit it sooner rather than later. If you don't have a clip get one as there is no warning when this is going to happen. Sods law say's it will happen in Tesco's car park with a bootful of frozen food or when you need the car urgently.

Don't worry about torque settings on the ring, simply mark where it was originally with felt pen.

In fact there are some markings on most from the factory.

Did you get yourself going again? Did you fit the clip or will that be a future job?
