Unhappy Bonnet wont open

Well I have owned the car for four months and the first thing has gone wrong today.I was going to adjust my Ron-box but when I pulled the bonnet release there was a little tension then the release handle went slack. I am fairly sure that the cables have come adrift where they go 1 into 2 .

My problem is this, just how do you open the bonnet when the release handle is all limp Can someone please help....

Could someone PM this info please, the last week my lever has moved about 3/4 of its travel followed by a unerving twang just before maximum travel. Would like it to hand when the inevitable happens.

Just as a matter of interest.
Have you done the Cable box Mod of Julebass which prevents a lot of problems Paranoid?
Most cars didn't seem to have this done.
