Default to sell or not to sell

Hi,

i recently posted on site re new ecu/glow plug relay caused by deep puddle flooding the plenum chamber due to faulty/blocked drainage chamber( i hope i have got this right)...and i thank you for your help and advice.

With a£1400 bill my head was saying sell the car but my heart is still saying keep it as it is of course a lovely motor.

I have now bought a vectra but the issue is whether to sell our 75 diesel( y reg 78k miles) or our citroen zx diesel ( p reg 164k miles).

The citroen is far more reliable but what will swing it the rover's way is your positive comments on parts availibility ( a friend also has a 75 and has been told there is a 2 year waiting list on fans ) and whether there is a rover/75 specialist within say 75 miles of harwich(north essex coast/suffolk border) as quite clearly general car garages have no idea as eveidenced by my recent saga.

Someone on the site did say about a good place in coventry but this is nearly 200 miles away.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.ta

If you don't mind a trip to Chelmsford, just off A12, try the Chelmer Rover Centre. Steve here is ex Rover technician specialising in MG Rover, several of us in the area use him. reasonable prices too. Have a look at,

Have a look at the Dealer Locator, http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/inde...age=dealers-uk

Or as has been said www.Lates600.com

There is an issue at present with cooling fans being unavailable, I don't think there is a projected time scale for re-supply.

if you have a diesel, there are plenty of fans and they are cheap too. But they all have inherent weaknesses (resistors may fail) which will need amendment- Julesbass can supply kits.
