Default Adjusting idle speed

Hi all, i have a 99 2.0 V6 Is it possible to alter the idle speed or is it controlled by the ECU? Mine idles at around 600 rpm without any aircon or lights etc turned on and seems a little on the low side to me.

Your cars ECU will monitor and adjust the idle speed according to the load of the engine. 600rpm sounds about right to me. Even if you turn on auxilary systems (such as the aircon) the idle should settle at around 600rpm (once the engine is warmed up).

So long as the idle isn't fluctuating wildly or the idle speed isn't at the point where your engine is almost stalling then your fine.
