Default Laptop problem, need a bit of help

Right folks this is the problem .........got a toshiba satallite lap top......its very slow to find homepage which is google, when it finaly gets on the screen the computer may run ok for a while then if i try to close a window down it will not close so have to open another ....some times it will freeze for 20 seconds or freeze and will not close......i get a error message on screen .........

any ideas

I have some old laptops (256mb memory) which I occasionally play with and the symptoms you mention I often get as a consequence of low memory. How much memory do you have? Might be worth running a check to see if any of it has gone down. :xmas-smiley-031:

Do you have the Google toolbar installed in IE ?

Uninstall it and then reintall, try that.

Hiya. I have the same problem, not google, Internet Explorer.... I now use Mozilla firefox....No probs with google on there.. touch wood.. seems okay, Do you check to see if if it needs defragging.? Poppy.
