Default F1 750bhp 1.6 engines

New rules regarding more fuel efficient engines bring back the turbo powered cars, instead of the V8 2.4litre engines in the current cars new engines will be brought in starting 2013 and they will be 1.6 litre 4 cylinder turbo engines with the same power output of 750bhp (when combined with KERS) but will only rev to 10,000 rpm

Should fit in a 75/ZT nicely

New rules for 2011 are movable rear wings to provide better opportunities to overtake, driver will be able to use them only when they are within 1 second from the car in front.

KERS will also comeback with improved systems giving twice the power, from 60 Kw to 120 Kw.

Looking forward to the new season already.

where did you see this 750 bhp ........in a f1 car not that im calling you a fibber bur this sounds like a wind up....kers will depend on who can develope the best system and i think the redbull have a good understanding on the exhaste gas direct flow to the rear wing ...as for the moveable wing dont redbull already have this ...well on the front endplate they do......mclaren fan.....1.6....turbo in a mclaren ..they will have to extend the race to 3 hours now then..........a f1 engine idles at 90000 revs.

I bet berny and mclaren are pulling there hair

Care has been taken to ensure the performance of cars will not be affected and total power outputs will remain at current levels - approximately 750bhp.

ummmmmm bit wrong there 2.4 pushes 1000+bhp + boost level of kers and the exhauste which will push a further 10/20 bhp

cant see this beeing implamented as it will cost millions to re-develop the 2011 cars which has already been developed....but who knows oh and they already use bio-ethinol fuel

The engines don't come in until 2013

Only being done to please the environmental groups, if they can prove they're being "greener" they can continue to retain or gain more sponsorships. It's all to do with money, a lot of the sponsors are advertising and have policies that they are being environmentaly friendly because it's popular business practice today, to avoid a conflict of issues they may only continue to sponsor Formula 1 if it can be shown that measures are being taken to reduce fuel consumption, reduce carbon footprint etc.

hmm, i dont think they will have too much of a problem with the engines, technology has become so advanced now im suprided power hasnt been capped at double that. infact, sayin that the BMW megatron engine developed in the earrly to mid 80's was a 1.5L turbo, and that produced circa 1300 bhp, some belived it was nearer 1500 bhp.... and that was over 20 years ago!

i dont know if its a good think that f1 is going back to turbo power, i think it will be less competetive for teams which dont have the same amount of funding teams such as red bull have. the turbo design will become the deciding factor in the races where areodynamics used to be the main deciding factor (even though it will still play a massive part)

will be an interesting season
