I advertise on there. they base their prices on how popular the search is..
Check what areas they will actually put you down in.
Don't do yellow pages it's a waste of time. Do yell.com but you need to do a paid for advert either medium or heavy weight to get near the top of the listings.

Yep a few years ago... very pushey... and won't leave me alone,
took out a basic year package.... worked out a lot of money,
something like £400-500 , return,..... zero... zilch... nothing,
just bombarded with **** , nothing phone calls...
was not impressed, i would guess some business it works for...
but not for me....
thanks

When my Yellow Page drops through the letter box it goes straight into the recycling bin. It is a complete waste of paper as you can never find what you want. The BT commercial section has better indexing and you can usually find what you are looking for.

No, I considered it when I started my business and they were very pushy however I decided not too in the end.
My brother used to have a big ad in the yellow pages and did get a lot of work through it back in the day however as Google got more popular yellow pages seems to have taken a knock.

A decent website with good SEO will do a lot more for your business then the yellow pages will.......but owning an IT consultancy I suppose I have to say that!

I would agree, Yellow pages/Yell is a big waste of time, everyone just 'googles' things these day
