Possible eBay issue
I bought a flatbed scanner off eBay last week, for an admittedly very cheap 99p, although the P&P cost brought the total to £8.99
Had it sent to my mums address, and picked it up this morning. It made a noise like scanners are not supposed to make, namely a quick tilt and it sounds like broken glass...... Have just contacted the seller and am now awaiting response Hi Picked up the scanner today from the delivery address (my parents house) and without even opening it, I know it's damaged - it's obvious that the glass is broken from the noise the parcel is making I will leave opening it until you have seen this. I can take photos on opening if you wish? Otherwise I can return the item unopened (NB item description said "No BOX But Will Be Well Packaged" but this does not appear to be the case. Also package not marked "handle with care" or "fragile") Can you let me know how you wish to proceed? Thing is, eight quid for P&P and it's just got a single layer of bubble wrap and then a layer of brown paper! As I said to the seller, no "handle with care" or "fragile" markings even! Just wondering how I might stand if he plays silly wotsits. He's got 2064 positive feedback, so guessing he won't want a negative!

If you need to give negative feedback then so be it. Tough one this but i think the seller will give you a full refund no questions asked.
As for writing "fragile" or "handle with care" it makes no difference all packages go threw the same process so it makes no difference. Hope you get your cash back.. |

Looks like I may have been overly worried, as he's done just that! (although it's not appeared yet.....)
Oddly though, he's not asked for proof that it's smashed

I'd like to think so! Mine is only 183 after about 10 years, but all good!
(should have been more like 215 or so, but quite often people just don't bother...)

Maybe 8 quid is measly to him but it's certainly not to me
