Been suggested to use Carlube Atf-u for my auto gearbox. Any comments please.

You need a fluid which meets the N402 specification and Carlube ATF-U does.

There are others and here's the list I compiled which you might find useful.

I used The N402 from Smith and Allen on eBay used 2 and pumped it through using the oil cooler pipe work , until clean.
This changes all the fluid , and is quite quick. You just need some plastic pipe to fit the Push on connections.

The plan is to go and see Terry but he is out of stock of gear oil. Trouble I have is finding either Smith and Allan or Carlube atf-u gear oil's by Sunday.

Update to anyone interested.
Went to Terry's
Plugged in the T4 and he tested injectors, glow plugs amongst other things. Everything looked fine. Next was the fuel pressure from the pumps. Overall pressure was a bit down. Further testing shows the under bonnet pump was fine but tank pump wasn't working at all. Probably the reason for the pressure being a bit down.
Arrangements are going to be made to replace the tank pump before the under bonnet pump burns out.
Hopefully fuel pressure will go back to normal.

This morning going to work the NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- wouldn't start.
Easy start did it's job but that's not the point
Past 6 days it started no problem.

Hi Al.
Due to the diagnosis by Terry, how much fuel did you have in the car above the 1/4 hopefully otherwise that could be the cause, also each time the car is now started the UBP is adding more strain to the over worked pump.

Hopefully I'll be able to have a new tank pump fitted this weekend . Then all things going well my problem will be cured.
