Well, on cars DRL's should not be lit with the headlights on*. They must go off. The eurobox I've got now uses the same lights for DRL's and sidelights, how? by dimming them 50% (and that's ok legally). * N.B. on motorcycles this does not apply allowed to have DRL's on with headlights on, probably because you'll have trouble finding a modern motorcycle with a switch to turn the headlights off!

Personally I've never found fog-lights on any car I've ever driven to be of any use whatsoever - apart from looking, well, flash from the outside.

A decent bulb upgrade would help, or if they are particularly old they might just need changing. You could well notice a good difference doing that and as others have said check your lenses and headlight glass/plastic is in good clear condition as well as your reflectors and alignment |

Yellow with halogen or led yellow bulb? How did you get them to work as a DRL? I assume that working as DRL they are white?

If you're asking me Julio, white leds with a DRL switch, needed to turn on with ignition & off when headlights come on. Yellow fogs are a tint with Osram Fogbreaker bulbs.

I use the so-called fog lights on unlit rural roads to pick out the verge, essential to see how close to get when passing oncoming traffic. With respect to dazzle, ordinary LED headlights on more modern cars are far more of a problem and another reason why being able to see the nearside verge is so important. |
