Toaf question…Early cars VS late cars.
Hello all,
I have a TOAF question for you all. Me and a friend who is on here (Biffa75) has been checking S544 AOX and T460 LNV and YS53 AZP. I have been trying to read the live engine data on S544 AOX and Biffa75 has been trying to read it on T460 LNV. Neither of them we were able to read it. S544 is a v6 and T460 is 1.8 petrol. We then both tried YS53 AZP that is a 2.0 cdt and we could read the live engine data. Biffa75 can also read the live engine data on his 04 plate 2.0 cdt. Did the earlier cars have different ECUs? As it shows the manufacturer of the ECU for S544 and T460 as Motorola but doesn’t show anything on YS53. Could someone share any advice or knowledge on this? Was TOAF developed to run with the later type ECUS? Thank you Josh

Never tried the same but am guessing that there is limited functionality for the 1.8T, a bit more for the V6s and as diesels are the big thing in Poland more features were available.
Don't think it's anything to do with the year of the ECU/ECM, but I don't know diesels and have only even used Toaf on V6s & the occasional 1.8T where the ECU/ECM have been displayed. You sure the V6 said "Motorola" as I believe they are Siemens? (Motorola is correct for the 1.8T) Regards |

There are certainly programming differences between the pre- production and very early production cars compared to the others.
To deal with them properly you need the appropriate very early disc(s) for T4 to look at them. Toaf probably won't do it as it is based on the later programming. I've got the very early discs somewhere, will have to dig them out as I haven't needed to use them in years. Russ
