Default Bluejon's Photo Gallery;

Hi Everyone,

Thought I would like to make up a gallery of some of my pics in this section, starting with three pics taken whilst out with the family last Sunday at Keswick,in the Lake District, late afternoon looking West towards the fells.

Contrast the next three taken at the same location about the same time of day in January of this year, much less foliage on the trees, snow capped mountains & beautiful late afternoon glow in the western sky.

BEST REGARDS.

JOHN.

Nice stuff John - the area around Keswick is my favourite part of the Lakes. Until recently, a group of us used to spend an extended weekend at the Keswick Country House Hotel twice a year - March and late October/early November. Its worth it to see the trees alone, whether in Spring bloom or Autumn 'burning' colours - never mind the bacon they serve for breakfast in the Hotel
I'm now off to dig out my Lakes pix and refresh a few memories

Many thanks Rod,I originally come from the South Lakeland area, moving up to the western lakes many years ago,so obviously my hankering is still for the South Lakes Windermere/Coniston region, btw whilst talking about the food, don't forget about the Cumberland sausage,we're famous for it lol.

Best Regards.

John.

I thought I would follow up with some shots I took of the sun setting over the Isle of Man,looking West across the Solway Firth from Whitehaven.

This was the view from the late Father in Law's house, what a view.

Best Regards.

John.

Took these three shots of a very dramatic sunset earlier this year, whilst on the way home after meeting up with some of the North East Lads on Hartside Fell near Alston.

We pulled off the A66 near Threlkeld to take these shots looking West towards Keswick.

Best Regards.

John.

Once again John your photos continue to give pleasure and many thanks for posting them up. I see you have your signature added to them. A good idea.
I liked the dramatic sunsets. The past couple of nights I have been going up the mountain to practice taking similar shots over the bay to Cape Point. The lads here have given me a few pointers and any advice you can give will be welcomed. I am restricted in that the shutter speed on my Canon bridge cam will only go to 1s. I use it on the P setting. multiple bracketing, ISO 100, 200, 400 and even tried 800 on a tripod with a 2 sec delay.

Perhaps you are able to reveal the settings you prefer to use? or not

Keep posting John and do keep us enthralled.

All the best

Phil
