Bought my first 75 today!
Hello
Ive posted a few times whilst seaching for my first 75 and have today paid for and collected my 1.8 classic se after starting looking for a diesel connie! (ran out of patience and money). Got a good price but have MOT in a week so a few things to do. Have already sorted Airbag warning light (loose connection under drivers seat) thanks to this forum, now to sort ABS and speedo........ All the best |

I was told that you don't need a functioning speedo to pass an MOT. In fact my old Renault Clio did pass without a functioning speedo.
You can't have an ABS light on though, my Dad's Volvo failed on that. Might give you an indication over which job to tackle first. |

If the speedo is not working and the instrament panel lights it is not a fail BUT and this is the stupid part, it is a criminal offence for them NOT to be working just goes to show how useless a mot is. |

you mentioned your speedo isnt working along with an ABS light...this would point toward the drivers side front sensor not working as they are linked....
A good starting point anyway.. Martin |

First full day of ownership and what happens?
Breaks down....With my 1 year old in the car. Luckily, it wasnt too far for a mechanic I know to come out and he finds no fuel in the car! The reading is between a quarter and a half tank and has dropped since I picked the car up yesterday and the seller never mentioned this fault so wasnt happy
