Default Anyone replaced the flexie pipe on the exhaust pipe?

Ive found that teh flexie pipe just after the cat is blowing. I can get a universal clamp on flexie from exhasustpartsuk.com and assume ill have to cut the old flexie out of the exhaust system and do a bit of grinding.
If you have done this id appreciate any tips before i starting.

When i do the job ill take notes and photos for others to follow.

Ive had a good look at this now and it woudl seem that the whole system has to come off so that the flexie part can be cut out by grinding away the welds.

Anyone done this???

Any exhaust centre will weld in a new flexi in situ .No need to remove entire exhaust. Had mine done about a year ago no problem.

The Flexi pipe is part of a complete unbroken section that includes the downpipe, flexi section and cat, can be cut out in situ but more awkward

Very close to bend to use a clamp on one. I found an exhaust place to weld one in for £80, but most places just wanted to sell me the whole front section. One place claimed I would need the whole exhaust (£££).

Thanks for all that guys. "Money is too tight to mention" as someone once said (fine young canibals i think) so it will be a job done at home.
It is heartening to hear that this has been done before by others.
Ive have found the part I need and with the clamps and package will be about £40. Im happy with that.

I pretty sure though that i will take the exhaust off the car. If I can shift the 3 nuts right at the front that is. They will be pretty baked on after 10 years.
