Different quality genuine floor mats?
My car came with genuine mg mats that look like they've been in since new (there's a hole in the drivers one). They're backed in a kind of rubber. I've got a replacement set of genuine ones and noticed these ones, whilst they carry the same MG logo and look the same on the front, only have a foam back. Is this a project drive thing?

Not sure about MG mats - Rover mats came in Standard and Premium, the former with a foam backing, the latter with a heavy Latex backing.
However, it seems that recently Xpart have reduced the quality of the Rover mats, as found in this thread: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=152541 (note that the first post was amended to reflect this). Perhaps Xpart have done the same with the MG mats?

The genuine article that Perry's are selling are the real article, biut manufacture has now been moved to Poland. If this makes any differance.
The original mats did have rubber backing, the later offerings are foam. Only time will tell if they are as durable as the original item. |

I've have a set of ash grey genuine standard mats with the heel pad. They have had five years of use, and still look great. I'm currently using them for winter use. |
