Back home,still raining,miles and miles of caravan tailbacks,glad we were heading back into Norfolk rather than heading out,it was like a convey of refugees leaving a war zone.

We saw a weather report for the UK lots of rain and winds up to 60 mph which is something no one wants.

Here the weather was not too bad, sunny rainy intervals 25C

The wedding party left for a “walk with the camels and camp out in tents in the bush for 3 nights. We stayed behind as we had enough of party party, loud music and people shouting at each other to hear. Happy to chill out.

When we got married in South Africa, the vicar and license was £60, then it was a meal in a restaurant with family and friends. One night honeymoon at a mountain lodge, then a flight back to London a couple of days later, as in those days I was still working.

What was it like for everyone else?

Ging and I got married in the Philippines, for her family mainly. My parents didn't go, my mother couldn't travel due to severe arthritis. The wedding etc wasn't that expensive compared to the UK but we set the standard for weddings in her home town! After I got back we set things in motion to get Ging here (that's a whole story in itself!) and she joined me a few months later.

What a deluge here, the depth of the standing water is a half inch away from swamping the garage floor with more to come later today
