I use a ciggy socket like this to hard wire a dash cam. That way you dont need to cut off the plug for the cam, and on some dash cams you cant cut the plug off due to it running on less than 12v.
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F182239584784 Juat wire the positive to a ignition live accessory socket on the fuse box using a fuse tap and the negative wire to a earth point. |

If you have auto dimming rear view mirror, you can use that to power your dash cam, either solder to the cig plug, or use a 5v buck
Also instead of sticking a huge sucker to the screen, make a thin metal bracket, slide it under the roof lining, and fix it using one of the visor retainer screws

THESE are the wiring kits I have bought (this week for another job). Used them for dashcams in the past as well as THESE.

The nextbase wiring kit as suggested is pretty decent you just replace a fuse with it and then route the wire up from the a pillar and then tuck it behind the headliner and that pretty much it

I have Pittasoft dash cams on all of our cars.
I use a cig lighter socket wired to the fuse box using a piggy-back fuse and just tuck the cable behind the A pillar trim. Quick to install and even quicker to uninstall to move to another car. The Pittasoft cameras are very small with no screen and mount out of the driver's sight behind the mirror with an adhesive pad. I have mounts in both my ZT and MGF and just move the camera between the cars.
