I have just received the 2 sill ends I bought from eBay, I think it was from his shop. Mine are only slightly bubbly but I knew the repair sections are not likely to be in stock for long due to not being mass produced.

My sills only have a few bubbles but when the time comes I want them to look right when done.

Hi Steve yes the Tourer both rears right at the back before the wheearch see pics mirror image of each other.

Garage is going to weld it and put a new back box on for £310 so not too bad plus 2 new tyres on the front.

Default Local Owners Car Sills.

I recently sorted out a service on a local owners Rover 75 and found the sill problem on his car, i have passed on Tom's number to him, also the information that he can obtain the sill parts from Tom and get them welded on local if he wanted to.

Here are the photo of the said sills.

You can see from this photo the jack support as been compromised.

The above passed it's test in June 15/21 with Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories)

The tourers sills didn’t look too bad, but the mot mans pointy stick soon showed up some rot.

New sills and jacking points ordered from Tom last week.

Hi Sean.
Just like you a local owner whom recently dropped on a nice low mileage R40 was asked to give it a quick once over after the purchase and the dreaded brown specs were found, i have informed him to take action before it gets any worse.

Good advice Steve.
The tourer only has 85k on it.
The most recent saloon only has <30k on it, but when I installed a FBH dosing pump In 2020, It didn’t look particularly rust free in that general area.🙄
They’re all pushing on 16 yrs minimum, so unless they’ve been stored in a dry shed or waxoyled in time, it’s a matter of “when”, not “if”.

Also worth mentioning that when jacking up any of the other cars from the “jacking points” in future, I’ll be taking extra precautions with some other supports under the subframe.
At this point, I don’t think I consider the sill jacking points as being safe, just because they look ok.😞.
Id like to think there is more than just crusty tin work separating me from the almighty.😳

Where exactly is he based again? My HR-V has a few spots that need his attention if he willing to do it.
