It's been dry & windy here this afternoon & the first time I've seen the driveway dry in months. I managed to get both of the greenhouses glass cleaned with a bleach & soap solution, I can see out of them now

Some leftover mushroom & Mozzarella cheese pasta bake for tea tonight.

Evening all, it hasn’t gone above 1 deg here today, Meg decided that snow was a bit weird so barked at it.. a lot!

She then headed to the groomers for her manicure and some pampering.

She is enjoying the warmth now...

First time Poppy encountered a decent amount of snow, couple of inches, was funny. Initially she wasn't sure, like walking on broken glass, then got her confidence and started running up and down the garden path with her nose in the snow like a snowplough

Wish I was there to see it Ian....

Lady Emma has thermostatically controlled tube heaters in the cabins and also the engine bay.
We have a dehumidifier which empties via a drain into the galley sink. Cabinet doors and drawers are left open and fridge door open, empty and switched off.

That is our normal winter boating procedures as we don't fully winterise her as she is (normally) in use all the year round.

Believe it or not, boats are more vulnerable to winter damage when they are on the hard (out of water). The water acts as insulation around the hull so generally it is not needed to drain all the systems down to protect from freezing.
That being said, looks like it will be March before we can gain access to our boats again, so it is a long time without the chance to check on her.

Thankfully as you can see from the photo, the marina staff are checking on all boats and will alert us if anything looks wrong.
They don't have access to our boats though so can only visually inspect.

Cool

Morning everyone.

The sky is crystal clear, not a cloud to be seen but no frost.

Too dark as yet to tell the weather here, except that it's calm, not raining and above freezing.

After a venture into Waitrose Fruit Cocktail for breakfast yesterday, it's back to plain porridge this morning. You may ask why Waitrose fruit cocktail? Well, it's the only one I've ever found without strawberries. Strawberries in a pre prepared product turn to mush which I can't stand. I love fresh strawberries, but abhor mushy ones.
