Saw MG51 ROV on Wednesday and a couple of weeks ago saw MG51 MAD on the A14 on, sadly, a VW van owned by the MGOC.

I was told once that a dealership in the West Midlands used to own ROV 1 thru ROV 25 (bought many years ago when cheaper) and used them on demos and pool cars etc.

Not sure what this is based on, but a quick look on www.regtransfers.co.uk shows plates with three digits and a 1 as far more than this (for example, RLJ 1 is £55000... )
I know these folks have a mark-up, and in some cases don't even own the plates they are selling, but that would be pushing it a bit!!

ROV 1 was owned by colliers of Birmingham, rover agents.they also owned 33COL and COL77
incidentally 1 ROV was a DVLA classic in June 1994 and it achieved 5k at auction. |

V isn't that popular, and the O doesn't help neither, although it would be worth more than 1ROV. Pretty much ignore what Regtransfers advertise at as they don't own the vast majority of plates they own. Mind you, the only way to determine the real value is to place it on the Bay |

As i was coming off the m1 at jnct 31 this weekend, ROV 1 went past me heading south. Still in the hands of a lady driver.
